[edit] Membership Restrictions
Members must be at least two years old. Some airline partners require Canadian residency for mileage accrual and class of service bonuses. Accounts with no activity for a period of three years or that do not earn mileage other than partner enrollment bonuses during the first 12 months after enrollment may be closed.

Note accrual restrictions: Lufthansa: Non-atlantic flights in coach earn 50%. Keewatin Air: Discounted coach: Earn 50% miles flown or 250 miles. Canadian North or ZIP: Discounted coach: Earn 50-75% miles flown or 250-375 miles.

Earn miles on all paid Air Canada and Air Canada Connector scheduled flights. Earn 0.5 or 0.75 miles, depending on booking class, on discounted flights within Canada and between Canada and the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Bermuda. All other destinations earn 100% miles flown. Mileage cannot be accumulated on free tickets, unused purchased tickets, Aeroplan awards, travel industry-discounted tickets/rates, infant tickets and Air Canada Vacation charter flights.

Discount fare flights of up to 500 miles within Canada or between Canada and the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Bermuda earn 250 or 375 minimum miles, depending on booking class. All other flights including partner flights earn 500 minimum miles.

Air Canada and all airline partners: First class: 50% bonus; business class: 25% bonus where applicable.
[edit] Car Rental Mileage Accrual
Earn 500 miles per qualifying rental with Avis, Hertz, and National. A flight in conjunction is required when renting from Avis and Hertz.

Earn 500 miles per qualifying stay at most participating hotel partners. Earn three miles per US$1 spent at Marriott Conference Centers, Marriott Vacation Club International, Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites or Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites. Earn one mile per US$1 spent on room rate only at Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, Springhill Suites or TownePlace Suites all by Marriott. Stays at participating Radisson Hotels and Resorts earn 125 miles per night (up to 10 consecutive nights). Earn 250-500 miles per stay at Best Western International (depending on location). Earn 1,000 miles per stay at Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, W Hotels or Westin Hotels and Resorts. Stays at St. Regis or The Luxury Collection earn 1,500 miles. A flight in conjunction is not required.

CIBC Aerogold Visa and CIBC Aerogold Visa for Business (residents of Canada only): Earn one mile per CAD$1 charged on eligible purchases. Earn additional miles when using at participating Aeroplan partners. Earn double or triple miles at participating ADVANTEX restaurants, golf courses and small inns and resorts. AeroCorporate Visa holders earn one mile per CAD$2 charged. Aeroplan Platinum Plus MasterCard (residents of the U.S. only): Earn one mile per US$1 charged on eligible purchases plus 5,000 bonus miles for first purchase. Diners Club Gold Card or Diners Club Silver Card: Earn one mile per CAD$1 charged on eligible purchases. Earn a 5,000-mile enrollment bonus. Members may purchase up to 15,000 miles per year for themselves or other members for CAD$.04 per mile in 1,000-mile units, plus taxes and CAD$10 transaction fee.

Present membership number when making reservations and at check-in for automatic tracking. For Air Canada code-share flights operated by Alitalia, Eva Air or Royal Jordanian, send legible copy of ticket and original boarding pass to the Aeroplan service center to receive mileage credit (mileage is not automatically tracked for these flights).

Statement sent monthly to members with activity; monthly to elite-level members regardless of activity. Members who accrue mileage exclusively with Air Canada affinity cards or telephone partners receive statements four times per year. Or members may view online.
[edit] Mileage Expiration
By law, Canadian programs must have an expiration date. Historically, the Aeroplan mileage expiration date has been extended annually. However, any member who has not earned Aeroplan miles during the three previous consecutive years may have his/her membership canceled. If the membership is canceled, all accrued Aeroplan miles will be forfeited. Air Canada also reserves the right to remove a member's miles and cancel his/her membership if the member does not earn Aeroplan miles, other than an enrollment bonus, in the first 12 months after enrolling in the program.

Send copy of ticket and original boarding pass with membership number and telephone number to the service center within six months of the travel date. Non-airline partners require a mailed copy of invoice, contract, voucher or receipt. For missing credit on Air Canada affinity credit cards or telephone service, contact the partner directly. Allow two statement periods for mileage to appear on statement.
