Notes:
- Award seats first become available 330 days from the flight date on most airlines, and more may be added closer to the flight date if sales are slow or projected to be slow.
- For American Airlines Executive Platinum and travel companions, AA offers enhanced (increased) award availability. It is accessed only by an AA customer service representative with an active record of an EXP member; ExpertFlyer and other methods only display normal award availability.
- JJ - TAM: flights within South America need to be booked at least 7 days in advance unless they are a connection to a flight in/out fo this region.
NOTE:
- EI - Aer Lingus is leaving the AAdvantage program on November 1, 2008. All award travel must be booked by October 31, 2008 and completed by October 31, 2009.
- JJ - TAM is leaving the AAdvantage program on November 14, 2007. All award travel must be booked and ticketed by November 13, 2007 and travel must be complete by November 13, 2008.
- TK - Turkish Airlines left the AAdvantage program March 30, 2008. All award travel must have been booked my March 29, 2008 and must be completed by March 29, 2009.
Historical notes
- BA - British Airways: until 29 August 2006, EXP, PLT and travel companions were booked in V inventory for economy travel. If V wasn't available, X could be used.
- TA - TACA: relationship ended 30 June 2006 (was - D T)
- LX - SWISS international: relationship ended 31 Oct 2006, was booked in R for business and E in economy prior to their class realignment to join Star Alliance (early 2006)
- SN - Brussels Airlines: was A Z E until late April 08
