United Airlines (IATA Code: UA) is a U.S. airline based in Chicago, IL. It operates domestic hubs at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD), Denver International Airport (DEN), Washington Dulles (IAD), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Important international airports include London Heathrow (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Tokyo Narita (NRT), Hong Kong (HKG), Bangkok (BKK) and Singapore (SIN).
United is the leading U.S. carrier on Hawaii and transpacific routes, with envied route coverage in the Midwestern and Western U.S. and a close partnership with US Airways to destinations in the South and Northeast. UA is a founding member, and the largest member, of the Star Alliance.
Its Mileage Plus loyalty program started in 1981, only a week after American Airlines' AAdvantage.
