[edit] PALL List

The PALL list is a complete airport standby list for a flight, used by gate agents, ticket counter agents, and Admirals Club staff to manage passengers awaiting seat assignments, standby passengers, and passengers with pending upgrade requests. The standby and upgrade lists shown on gate monitors are abbreviated versions of the corresponding sections of the PALL list.

[edit] PALL List Codes

The main PALL list codes are as follows. Passengers are ordered by code, then elite status, then other time-based factors. Additional codes may be entered to designate other information, such as companions traveling together.

  • OS# = Confirmed Economy passenger awaiting seat assignment. May be due to seats being blocked for airport control or a true oversold situation.
  • RF = Confirmed First Class passenger awaiting seat assignment.
  • DSR# = Standby First Class passenger, confirmed in Economy.
  • VIP1 = Executive Platinum awaiting an eVIP upgrade.
  • VIP = Non-Executive Platinum member awaiting an eVIP upgrade (gifted).
  • UPG# = Confirmed Economy passenger awaiting mileage, complimentary, or elite sticker upgrade. Within a status group, passengers are ordered by date and time of original request.
  • RI# = Revenue involuntary standby passenger (bumped from another flight due to oversold condition or travel disruptions). Within a status group, passengers are ordered by check-in time.
  • RV# = Revenue voluntary standby passenger. Within a status group, passengers are ordered by check-in time.
  • DRX = Discount revenue (non-status) voluntary standby passenger. Passengers are ordered by check-in time.
  • D% = Non-revenue standby passenger (AA employees, family, and friends), where % is an additional number code not related to elite status.
  • VOL = Volunteer for bump to a later flight. Passengers are ordered by time of volunteering (first come-first served).
  • DG = Passenger with involuntary (or voluntary) downgrade in class-of-service.
  • FTR = Flat Tire Rule passenger. Used when a passenger misses a flight through no fault of their own or American Airlines.
  • -T = Through passenger - Addition of this suffix gives priority over other passengers in the same status group, overriding normal time-based ranking. In the context of upgrades, this suffix is supposed to be added manually only by agents at upstream airports for connecting flights departing from downstream airports. In the context of standby passengers, this suffix is supposed to be added only for passengers connecting to at least one more flight.

# - Indicates that this code is followed by a number indicating elite status level: 1 = Executive Platinum (EP), 2 = Platinum (PL), 3 = Gold (AG), Ø = non-status.
