[edit] Membership Restrictions
Accounts with no activity for 12 consecutive months after enrollment may be closed. Miles do not expire as long as member participates in one of the following activities every 24 months: travel on a qualifying Delta, Delta Shuttle, SkyTeam, or other SkyMiles airline partner flight; participate in the SkyMiles program with one of the SkyMiles program partners; buy miles; or redeem miles for a SkyMiles award. Effective December 31, 2006 miles will expire after two years of account inactivity.

Note accrual restrictions:
Aeroflot Russian Airlines: Mileage may be earned on all Aeroflot-coded flights operated by Aeroflot or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in O, X, L, N, I, or E class, or for flights operated by Aeroflot Don or Aeroflot Nord.
Aeromexico: Mileage may be earned on all AeroMexico–coded flights operated by Aeromexico or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in G, I, O, P, C, E, F, U, W, or Z class.
Air France:Mileage may be earned on Air France-coded flights operated by Air France or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in A, L, N, O, G, or X class, or for Air France travel via boat/ferry service.
Air Jamaica: Mileage may be earned on Air Jamaica-coded flights operated by Air Jamaica or Delta, and on Air Jamaica-operated flights coded Air Jamaica or Delta. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in D, E, N, T, or U class, or for flights operated by Air Jamaica Express or Eastern Caribbean Xpress.
Alaska Airlines: Mileage may be earned on Alaska Airlines-coded flights operated by Alaska Airlines or Delta, and on Alaska Airlines-operated flights coded Alaska Airlines or Delta. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in A or W class.
Alitalia: Mileage may be earned on Alitalia-coded flights operated by Alitalia or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in E, F, G, P, R, S, U, or Z class.
Avianca Mileage may be earned on Avianca-coded flights operated by Avianca or Delta, and on Avianca-operated flights coded Avianca or Delta. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in A, B, K, D, T, or Z class.
China Airlines: Mileage may be earned on China Airlines-coded flights operated by China Airlines or Delta, and on China Airlines-operated flights coded China Airlines or Delta. Mileage credit is only applicable for fares booked in F, A, J, C, D, Y, B, M, Q, T, K, H, L, and N.
China Southern: Mileage may be earned on China Southern-coded flights operated by China Southern or Delta, and on China Southern-operated flights coded China Southern or Delta. Mileage credit is applicable only on international flights booked in F, C, Y, W, and S class, including to/from Hong Kong. No credit will be awarded for intra-China travel.
Continental Airlines: Mileage may be earned on Continental-coded flights operated by Continental, ExpressJet, Continental Micronesia, or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in YN, EN, E, M, G, or P class.
Czech Airlines: Mileage may be earned on Czech Airlines-coded flights operated by Czech Airlines or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in A, E, F, G, J, K, O, P, R, S, U, W, X, or Z class.
EL AL Israel Airlines: Mileage may be earned on El Al-coded flights operated by El Al or Delta, or on El Al-operated flights coded El Al or Delta. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in J, O, P, R, W, or X class.
Emirates: Mileage may be earned on Emirates-coded or operated flights. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in E, N, I, O, P, R, S, U, V, X, or Z class.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines: Mileage may be earned on KLM-coded flights operated by KLM, City Hopper, or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in D, E, G, N, or W class.
Korean Air: Mileage may be earned on Korean Air-coded flights operated by Korean Air or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in B, G, N, Q, A, D, U, X, or V class.
Malaysia Airlines: Mileage may be earned on Malaysia Airlines-coded and operated flights. Mileage credit is applicable only for residents of the United States, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, or South America. No mileage credit is awarded for intra-Malaysia flights, or for fares booked in I, R, or T class.
Northwest Airlines: Mileage may be earned on Northwest-coded flights operated by Northwest, Mesaba, Pinnacle, or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in G, X, W, A, or D class.
Singapore Airlines: Mileage may be earned on Singapore Airlines-coded and operated flights. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in G, N, Q, R, or V class, or for tickets issued as part of a cruise package.
Virgin Atlantic: Mileage may be earned on Virgin Atlantic-coded and operated flights. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in G, T, U, or N class.

Earn miles on published fares excluding, but not limited to, free tickets, agency/industry tickets, free/deeply discounted car rentals/hotel stays, Welcome Fares, COMAIR's Weekend Traveler fares, tickets purchased to carry excess baggage or to provide extra space for the primary passenger and charter flights. Infants under the age of two must fly on an applicable infant fare and occupy a seat to accumulate miles.

Delta Air Lines, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection, Air France, Air Jamaica, and Alitalia: Earn 500 minimum miles. Other partners: Coach earns actual miles.

Delta and most partner airlines: first class: 50% bonus; Business Elite/business class: 50% bonus. Air Jamaica, China Airlines, China Southern, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways or United Airlines (U.S. domestic service only): first class: 50% bonus; business class: 25% bonus. Virgin Atlantic Airways: Upper Class: 25% bonus.

Earn 50 miles per day per qualifying car rental with Avis, Alamo, Hertz, National, Thrifty and Dollar. Earn 60 miles per per qualifying car rental with Europcar. A flight in conjunction is not required.

Earn 500 miles per qualifying stay at most participating partner hotels at eligible rates. Earn 2.5 miles per US$1 spent on room rate at Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts. Earn 250 miles per qualifying stay at Best Western International. Earn three miles per US$1 spent on qualifying charges at Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites; Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites; Marriott Conference Centers, Marriott Vacation Club International, Jumeirah International and JW Marriott Hotels. Earn one mile per US$1 spent on room rate only at Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites all by Marriott.
