Mail application to service center, call reservations or enroll online: https://www.nwa.com/cgi-bin/wp_enroll.pro for immediate membership number. Application forms are usually available at the podium by the gate for your departure flight.

[edit] Retroactive credit

Worldperks does not provide credit for qualifying activities prior to the date of a member's enrollment. If a flight or other activity fails to post to your account, however, or if you forget to put your Worldperks number in your flight reservation, you can request credit for the activity after it happens as long as you were an enrolled member prior to the date of the activity.

Northwest sometimes has enrollment or referral bonuses available. Go to http://www.nwa.com and click on "promotions" for more information on Northwest's latest offers.

[edit] Membership Restrictions

Accounts with no activity for three consecutive years may be closed.

No accounts are currently being closed, but Worldperk reserves the right to close inactive accounts.

[edit] Banked Miles vs. Elite Qualifying Miles

With Worldperks, like many frequent flyer programs, members earn two kinds of "miles."

Banked Miles are a currency. You accrue them over time through flying, promotional, and other partner activity, and can then redeem (i.e. spend) them for award tickets. They generally do not expire as long as your account is in good standing.

Elite Qualifying Miles ("EQMs") are an odometer. They keep track of how much you fly during a single calendar year and can generally only be earned by flying. They cannot be spent and reset to zero on January 1, but if you hit certain thresholds (25,000, 50,000, 75,000) you earn elite status that gets you the "perks" part of Worldperks.

[edit] Flight Mileage Accrual

[edit] Fare basis

Almost all paid fares earn miles. When flying on Northwest you earn at least 1 banked mile and 1 EQM for each mile you fly. For further details and for rules regarding partner airlines, see http://www.nwa.com/freqfly/earn/airfl.shtml

[edit] Minimum miles

On all Northwest flights and most partner flights you will earn at least 500 minimum miles (both banked and EQM) for every segment.

[edit] Class of service bonuses

For Northwest operated flights, you will earn 50% banked mile bonuses for paid First and Business class travel. You will also earn 50% EQM bonuses for paid First and Business class travel as well as coach travel on Y or B fares. Similar rules apply to most Northwest partners, although not all partners earn EQMs.

[edit] "Direct" flights

Note that Northwest and many of its partners offer "direct" flights. "Direct" flights are not necessarily non-stop, but are flights under a single flight number that may make one or more stops. So, for example, NW11 is a "direct" flight from DTW to PEK, but stops in NRT (where you almost always have to change planes). Even if you change planes, however, you will earn miles for "direct" flights as if they were nonstop. So for DTW-NRT-PEK on NW11, you earn miles for a single flight DTW-PEK,

[edit] Posting times

For Northwest operated flights miles usually post within a few days. For qualifying flights operated by other airline partners it may take longer for miles to post into the WorldPerks account. Sometimes the flight appears with a 'Q' next to it (pending internal processing). This means that the flight is being taken into account but it requires some additional processing in order to confirm the appropriate amount of miles to post. No action is necessary on the part of the WorldPerks member; the miles will post several days later.

Earn 50 miles per day with Alamo, Dollar or National. Earn 250 miles for a rental up to seven days and 500 miles for rentals eight days or longer with Thrifty. A flight in conjunction is not required. See details at http://www.nwa.com/freqfly/earn/wp_partners/carrental.html.

WorldPerks Visa Card:

  • Earn one mile per US$1 in net purchases each month.
  • For monthly net purchases over US$10,000, earn one mile per US$2.
  • Earn 3,000 miles upon enrolling. Annual purchasing restrictions also apply. Bankcard checks, ATM disbursements and other cash advances do not earn mileage credit.

WorldPerks Visa Business Card:

  • For small businesses requiring fewer than 100 cards.
  • Earn one mile per US$1 in net purchases and 3,000 miles upon enrolling.
  • Bankcard checks, ATM disbursements and other cash advances do not earn mileage credit.

WorldPerks Visa Check Card:

  • Non-PIN based purchases earn one mile per US$2 spent. Credit must be selected when making purchases to earn miles. (Miles are not earned for ATM wihtdrawals.)

Diners Club:

  • Convert Club Rewards points into miles: 2,000 Club Rewards points = 1,000 miles.

Buy Miles and Gift Miles:

  • Miles can be purchased in increments of 2,500, 5,000 and 7,500, up to a maximum of 7,500/year.
  • The cost is US$95 for 2,500 miles, US$165 for 5,000 miles and US$235 for 7,500 miles.
  • These miles do not count toward elite qualification. Miles purchased using this option are non-refundable, available only on the Internet and will be posted to the appropriate account within 24 hours.

MilesAbove:

  • Miles can be purchased as a business incentive; 200,000-mile minimum for US$5,000, plus tax and fees.

Supersize Your Miles is another way to buy miles.

  • For $20 you can SuperSize your next paid roundtrip on Northwest Airlines®, Northwest Airlink, or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and earn 1,000 Bonus Miles. And, if you are a WorldPerks® Visa® Cardholder, you will earn an additional 1,000 Bonus Miles for a total of 2,000 Bonus Miles.
  • These Bonus Miles are in addition to the regular credited flight miles you will earn for your paid travel.
  • All flight segments within the paid roundtrip must be operated by Northwest, Northwest Airlink or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to earn the SuperSize mileage credit.
  • Bonus Miles are banked miles and do not count as credited flight miles toward Elite Status.

For missing credit on airline and most hotel partners, send written request to the service center within nine months of transaction; for car rentals, within three months. For all other partners, refer to the membership guide. When requesting missing credit, include your membership number, a copy of the ticket and original boarding pass, car rental agreement or hotel bill with the request.
